We had Trev, Emily, & Karin come over on Friday to carve pumpkins. It was lots of fun. Trevor had to have the biggest one of course... I think he regretted it though when he found out it wasn't all the way ripe. He had a really hard time cutting through it. Ha ha. Karin thought she would taste the pumpkin to see if it tasted like pumpkin pie... uh nope sorry. The last 2 pictures are Brandon and Kayli's pumpkin I carved for her.

Brigham City has an annual pumpkin festival with games and trick or treating for the kids. We took Kayli for the trick or treating part. She was amazed by the HUGE pumpkins. She was a little scared of people dressed scary, but she did grab the candy herself so I didn't have to grab it like I was getting it for myself. :D Isn't halloween fun?

Day at the Zoo

So we were so excited to go and do something different than the usual. Kayli hasn't been to the zoo yet and we feel like we neglect to take her fun kiddie places. I think she enjoyed the monkeys the most...she kind of got distracted from the animals with all the other people around. About an hour after we got there, Kayli puked all over herself and Brandon...great! We went to the bathroom to clean up the best we could, but you know how that works. You'd think I'd be smart by now and pack an extra outfit. Anyway, it was lots of fun. Maybe we'll take her to a haunted house next. :D

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom turned the big '50' yesterday. We threw her a surprise party with family and friends. She was surprised. Shandee got to see the surprise via webcam. We had cake and icecream and the 'old people' wrote in a book giving advice on being old.

6 facts

1. I love taking pictures. I used to work at Kiddie Kandids and have tried to make my own props for Kayli. Here's a few of my favorites...

2. I'm a clean freak. Ok not really a freak about it, but I get stressed out if I have a messy house. I have a hard time going to bed, studying, or just anything that doesn't involve cleaning if I can see a mess. I am pretty much on Brandon's case everyday about how messy he is (sorry babe, I still love you).
3. I enjoy the feeling of knowing I made someone laugh. No one usually gets my jokes because I'm pretty sarcastic and am serious when I make a joke. Sorry if I have offended anyone with my sarcasm...I think it runs in my family. Have you met my brother?
4. I am very particular about how my baby looks. I have to grit my teeth when I pick her up from a sitter who's left food on her face. I mean, is it so hard to wipe it off? Just a LITTLE pet peave.
5. I used to love making up my own music. I used to write song after song on my guitar and a few on the piano. Don't ask me to play them for you though, because they are basically like journal entries. They were based on my feelings in highschool which I don't care to share.
6. I love who I am (daughter of God, wife to a very special man, mother of an adorable baby, daughter of 2 very intelligent and loving parents, aunt to a cute little niece, sister to 2 beautiful sisters and 1 handsome brother, inlaw to a wonderful and very welcoming family), I love where I am (attending my first year of nursing school, raising a 9 month old baby), and I love who I'm with (Brandon and Kayli).

Peach Days in Brigham City

Kayli watching the parade.
Emily and Trevor watching the parade.
Brandon, a few residents, and some employees in the parade.
Kayli and a goofy face.
This last weekend was a busy one for us. Brandon had to help out with peach days every day (Wed- Sat). He had a tent up for marketing purposes mainly. On Saturday I took Kayli to watch Brandon and his work in the parade. She enjoyed the school marching bands the most. She danced everytime one would walk by. We watched the parade with Trevor and his girlfriend Emily, and her family. We are glad the peach days is over. We feel that it is overrated and decided that the Carnie's are creepy. Maddox does have some delicious peach shakes though (according to Brandon).

To be a NURSE
I had a suggestion that I should post how school is going. If you don't care to know then this post will be boring for you to read.
I started school on August 18th. The first week was definitely was the longest week. We had lecture on the 'Foundations of Nursing', which is basically the history of nursing. Not the funnest topic in the world. We had our first test (75 questions) just last monday on the first 20 chapters. Last week we also passed off some CNA skills (Bed Bath, Back Massage, Hand Washing, and Making Beds). Yes those all seem like very simple skills, but it's amazing how many details people forget (putting up side rails, raising the bed, giving patient privacy and so on). We also had a lecture on Pharmacology (study of drugs). That lecture has been the most interesting so far. It's amazing how many drugs are actually out there and the many different things they do for the body.
This past week has been better (except for the fact I've been at school for 8 hours almost everyday). The skills we passed off were Vital Signs (Temperature, Blood Pressure, Respirations, Pulse). These were also easy since I've been a CNA for a couple years now. We've also been learning how to inject people. I brought home a needle and a vial to practice on Brandon. (Not that he would EVER let me practice on him, I just have to pretend with the cap on).
I've got another exam on Pharmacology this Tuesday. Atleast 1 test a week, sometimes 2. Don't exclude the quizzes either (about 2 a week), oh and the many homework assignments we have, along with a paper due in a week and a slideshow presentation due in 3 weeks. I'd say I'm pretty busy. I am enjoying it though and am looking forward to being a nurse.
Let me know if you ever want to be a practice dummy. :D

2nd Cousins Picture

On Wednesday all the mothers and grandmothers of these adorable kids met at Kiddie Kandids. Before they were taken I had in my mind that this was going to be total chaos trying to get all of them to be happy together. Imagine that, all of them were good for the pictures and even looked at the photographer at the same time.
From left to right starting on the bottom row:
Addalyn, 2 yrs old (Burch Family); Cooper, 5 months (Allen Family); Titan, 8 months (Robinson Family); Carter, 14 months (Wilson Family); Kayli, 9 months (Ours); Hunter, 6 weeks (Sholley Family); Jace, 7 yrs (Trent and Amber); Amari, 4 yrs old (Trent and Amber)
